child development program and high quality facility!

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
I believe each child is a unique individual with many
gifts. My program strives to meet each child’s individual needs and to help the child develop in four critical developmental
areas: social, emotional, cognitive and physical. I have created what I believe to be the best of both worlds for young children
– a quality early education program, based on developmentally appropriate practices, in a loving Christian home. This
childcare program emphasizes social cooperation, respect for all people and property, Christian values, exploration of the
arts and our environment, literacy and school readiness. Because play is a child’s work, the classroom is divided into
learning centers where the children make independent choices and work on fundamental skills. The curriculum includes teacher-directed
concepts and child-directed activities, group interaction and independent work, as well as times for quiet and active play.
Communication with the families is an integral part of joining our program; parents receive newsletters, calendars, updates
on development and invitations to special events. Parents are always welcome to visit during the day. My personal relationship
with each child encourages them to feel safe to try new ideas and skills. It is my goal to lay the foundation within each
child for positive self-esteem and a lifelong love of learning.

Learning centers are areas within a classroom with a collection of activities and materials.
These materials are related by subject, purpose, or projected skills. These activities and materials are used independently
by the children, or with teacher direction, to reinforce and/or enrich one or more skills or concepts. Learning centers are
an excellent way to individualize the curriculum to meet the varying needs of young children.
The Importance of Learning Centers:
-To encourage discovery
and exploration: children learn by doing.
-To provide multiple techniques and methods to
meet different learning styles.
-To allow for teaching in small groups or one-on-one.
-To provide positive reinforcement.
-To develop a sense of responsibility in the
children.
-To structure children´s interaction; they are encouraged to verbalize and
develop social relationships, including sharing.
-To allow children to make decisions; the
children choose an activity that meets their personal needs and goals.
